Nowadays, it has become necessary to link the Aadhaar card with every identity proof. The list now includes a driving license. The government has also simplified the process of linking driving licenses with Aadhaar cards. Under which you can link driving license with Aadhaar online from home. For that you have to follow these steps.
The Road Transport Department of the State or Union Territory issues the driving license. In such a case the process of linking your base with the driving license may be a little different but the basic steps are the same as what we are telling you about.
This is how to link support to a driver's license
- First go to sarathi.parivahan.gov.in website.
- Now select the state where you have the license.
- Now click on Apply Online.
- Then click on Services on Driving License (Renewal / Duplicate / Aedl / Others).
- Now fill in the details of your state and click Continue
- Then enter the driving license number and enter the date of birth and click on the 'Get Details' tab.
- Now after getting the details of driving license, click on Process.
- Now enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number and registered mobile number here.
- Keep in mind that it should be the same mobile number that is linked to your support, submit now.
- An OTP will follow. Which has to be confirmed after entering.
- If you do not want to go online, you can do so by going to the RTO office.
According to Information Technology (IT) and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, a driver from one state escapes by drinking alcohol in an accident in another state and obtains a duplicate license from another state. But now by doing so he can misrepresent his name but not change his digital identity.
